Construction post 1: Our production kit

Our production kit includes:

• Canon Legria HF G30
• Clapper board
• Sennheiser HD 201 headphones
• Shoot board
• Shotgun microphone
• Tripod

We used the camera to shoot our footage, the clapper board to signal the start of a shot with the shot number and the number of takes, the headphones to identify any unwanted noise. We referred to the shoot board for the shot number, shot type and the description of the shot. We used the microphone to record diegetic sound such as dialogue or the sound which would usually be heard in the shot and we used the tripod to adjust the height of the camera for different framing.

Our production kit

We borrowed our production kit from the media department in our school. We all signed an equipment contract and the shoot authorisation form so that we could take the equipment and shoot off school grounds.
